Weekday Mornings 5:30 to 10:00am

Mitch hosts “The Morning After” show along with Vicki, weekday mornings from 5:30 to 10:00.

Who are you?

Mitch Belanger, but in my dreams I play centre for the Montreal Canadiens.

When are you on?

What am I on? Oh sorry…weekday mornings from 5:30 to 10am.

Where’d you come from?

Earth, but my Mother still believes she was abducted by aliens back in the 60′s, so that’s debatable.

What do you do when you’re not at work?

My aluminum foil collection is world renowned. I also enjoy playing video games and mindless trivia. Oh, and I also do campfire sing-alongs – you can talk to my agent, Marty for bookings.

I’m best known for…

My messed up(some would say juvenile)sense of humour, love of the Pittsburgh Steelers and encyclopedic knowledge of rock trivia.

Greatest Rock and Roll Moment(s)?

Playing with my band at Heritage Festival back in the nineties. Meeting the legendary Johnny Cash(he was one tall dude). My favourite concert(that I can remember)is Judas Priest at Northlands Coliseum in Edmonton in 1984.

Any other useless information you care to share?

Favourite band – Led Zeppelin

Favourite movie – Pulp Fiction

And finally -Yes, this is my real hair.

This New Movie Looks Wicked!

Posted on by mitchbelanger

You may have heard me talk about how predictable Hollywood has become, with its long parade of remakes and sequels. Don’t get me wrong. I love superhero movies as much as the next guy, but how many do we really need? The Green Lantern anyone? Is a remake of Carrie, Robocop or Point Break really a must-see? Certainly there are exceptions to the rule; movies that tackle new concepts or story lines. Inception and Django Unchained are recent movies that come to mind that offer a new concept or a twist on an existing genre. I saw this trailer this morning and it blew my mind. What a cool idea for a movie. Check out the promo for the new movie The Purge for yourself.

And a Sound Pierced The Air!

Snooker matches have always seemed so stuffy to me.  Although I admire the talent of the players, I’ve often thought the mood needed some lightening. Maybe that’s what this guy had in mind?

Roomba Cat In Shark Suit Chases Duck

What twisted mind thought this up?  How did they get the cat to stay on the Roomba for so long?  So many questions, but this is the funniest thing I’ve seen in a while.

Woodstock Legend Richie Havens Passes Away

Posted on by mitchbelanger

Woodstock legend Richie Haven died yesterday of a heart attack.  He was 72.  Havens made a name for himself when he played nearly three hours to open the Woodstock festival.  He was supposed to be fifth on the bill, but had to go on early when other musicians got stuck in traffic.  He made up his signature song, Freedom, when he ran out of songs to play.
