Everyone’s favourite, loveable, respectful, bike loving, parade leading mayor “cracked” his way onto to Daly Show last night. Jon Stewart highlighted a few of Ford’s “finer” moments as Toronto mayor before going into a full parody of what now seems to be a ”Canadian past time”.

It’s called the North Bay and area Community Foundation and it continues to provide funds on a regular basis to organizations in the community that need these funds to provide services.
Former Mayor Jack Burrows passes away

A former mayor of North Bay has died. Jack Burrows who was mayor from 1995-2003 passed away Sunday night at a hospital in Toronto. His son in law Bob Hudson says he was there for hip replacement surgery and developed complications unrelated to the surgery.

Markstay-Warren were forced to declare a state of emergency as a result of the flooding…traveling back and forth to visit family and they did get hit hard…Sunday afternoon as we were driving through, you could see how high the water had risen with huge chunks of ice stuck in the trees and bushes…they looked like plastic grocery bags littering the landscape…wild to see the levels that high, turning rivers into lakes

A swollen and flooded Chippewa Creek is having an impact on some roads and trails in North Bay.
Hwy 11 North expected to be closed into Saturday; detour set up

OPP advising Highway 11 North, in both directions, is expected to remain closed into Saturday. This after a sinkhole opened in the northbound lane by Mr Gas at the top of Thibeault Hill. The good news for motorists is that police say there’s a detour via Cedar Heights and College Drive.

Local resident Ahmed Jouar is telling his story after running in Monday’s Boston marathon. He says the two explosions happened just before he could cross the finish line with a lot of emotions in the crowd with crying and screaming as a lot of runners and spectators were injured.

Woman taken to Toronto hospital after fire in North Bay (update)

The investigation into the cause of a fire on the 300 block of Fraser Street continues with City Fire Prevention and the Fire Marshal’s Office.
Crews were called to the scene around 530 Wednesday evening with black smoke coming from the windows on the second floor.
