Union officials and key stakeholders with the ONTC have detailed a plan to revitalize the company while creating significant new job and economic opportunities for the north.  The union says the plan will include access to the Ring of Fire, creating thousands more jobs.  General Chairpersons Association Representative Brian Stevens says the proposal calls for transferring ownership of the railroad and other assets of the provincially held ONTC to a new ports authority to be operated under the Canada Marine Act. Click here to listen to a clip of Brian Stevens The new rail line to the Ring of Fire will be designed and built to ship thousands of tons per day of chromite, nickel and other minerals and finished products to markets around the world.  The General Chairperson’s Association will be detailing the plan to the province and Infrastructure Ontario.   Stevens details what residents can do to help see the plan come to fruition.
