The North Bay Mattawa Conservation Authority held a town hall meeting Wednesday. The focus was on mountain biking and the use of trails in the Laurentian Escarpment. The mountain bike community was well represented. There concern surrounded the removal of ramps, bridges and boardwalks over the years. There were also residents representing other user groups such as hikers, photographers and dog walkers. Conservation Authority CAO Brian Tayler says overall it was a positive meeting. Tayler says the biggest criticism was the lack of communication between the Conservation Authority and the user groups. A new worker group has been created to make communication easier between the Conservation Authority and user groups. Tayler says the Conservation Authority will work closely with the working group to make sure they can meet everyone’s needs.
